Historical facts:

CASA BOTINES

Antoni Gaudí’s genius is expressed in this order from some rich Leonese businesspeople at the end of the 19th century. With Gothic touches, resembling a castle, the building was conceived for fabric business in its first floor and the lower ground floor, the remaining floors meant to be apartments for rent. Special attention must be paid to details such as the iron fence, the lighting trench or the sculpture of Saint George above the main door. It is currently the head office of a financial entity, and its lower floors are used for temporary exhibitions.

Gaudí’s work was the order of the society “Fernández y Adnrés” from León, succeeding the company founded by Joan Homs I Botinàs: hence the name “Botines”.
